Obituary
Zyta Szponder (Zelazna) age 95, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away on April 26, 2023 at JourneyCare Hospice in Barrington, Illinois. She was born in Poland on October 23, 1927 the loving daughter of Stanislaw and Katarzyna (Kolman) Zelazny.
She is survived by her daughters, Donna (Don) Gragnani and Lucy (Larry) Smith; her grandchildren, Lisa (Thomas) Kavanagh, Matthew Smith, Mark (Karen) Szponder, Jennifer (Chris) Gelsomino and Nicolas (Kerri) Jakobsen; her great-grandchildren, Austin, Tyler, Elyse, Claire, Emma, Caitlin and Jack.
In addition to her parents, Zyta was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Joseph Szponder; her son, Jesse Szponder; her daughters, Alunia Szponder and Gina Jakobsen and her grandson, David Gragnani.
Family & Friends will gather on Friday, April 28, 2023 beginning at 10:30 a.m. directly at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin, until time of a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:30 a.m.
Interment will follow to St. Adalbert Catholic Cemetery in Niles.
