William “ Bill “ Kvistad

Bill was born in Oak Park, IL to Alvin J. Kvistad and Norah P. (nee Kelly), the third of three brothers. He grew up in Elmwood Park, IL, and raised his three daughters in Palatine.  In 1990, he married his soulmate, Sharon “Shari” Ruble. Bill and Shari spent their home time in Algonquin, IL and winters in Casa Grande, AZ.  He was an electrician, a drummer – loving to play 50’s & 60’s hits for hire, for fun, and whenever he could sit in on a set, and a yoga instructor who many know as Yoga Bill.  Always friendly and generous, Bill and his wife, Shari, had an active social life that included lots of restaurants, world travel, pickleball, dancing, and engaging in charitable causes.  He had a great sense of humor, an endlessly positive attitude and an immense love for his family and friends.

Bill was preceded in death by both his parents, two brothers (Alvin and John), stepson (Dean Goldufsky) and daughter-in-law (Lori Rudick).  He leaves his wife, Sharon; three daughters: Kelly (Scott), Tracey (Patrick), and Melanie; seven grandchildren: Joe, Nick, Megan, Kevin, Keeley, Tyler and Kendra;, two great-grandchildren; and three cats. Bill and Shari were active with the Valley Humane Society in Casa Grande, AZ.  They adopted several cats from VHS and spent countless hours donating their time and resources.
