William W. Meyer

William W. Meyer age 86, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away on March 7, 2023. He was born in Des Plaines, Illinois on March 5, 1937 to Wilbur and Lydia (Miller) Meyer. On May 9, 1959, in Elgin, Illinois William married Barbara Sue Showmaker.

He was an avid fisherman, enjoyed boating, snowmobiling and traveling.

William is survived by his children, Steven (Jennifer) Meyer, Timothy Meyer and Penni O’Brien; his grandchildren, Michael, Brian, Hallie (Aaron), Maddie, Hannah, Dalton, Mallorie and Kaci; his great-grandchildren, Emma, Delilah, Dakota, Delaney, Walker and Arden; his sister, Gertrude.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his loving wife, Barbara Sue Meyer in 2019. He was also preceded in death by his siblings, Delores, Charlene, Raymond and also his beloved dog “Chi-Chi”.

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 13, 2023 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.), Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
