William "Bill" Hanselman age 76, of Algonquin, formerly of Elk Grove Village passed away on December 22, 2023 at Northwestern-Medicine Huntley Hospital in Huntley, Illinois. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 8, 1947 the son of Robert and June (Vankirk) Hanselman.
He is survived by his life partner, Janine Pohlman of 36 years and his son, Chad Hanselman; his grandchildren, Alexander and Chyenne Hanselman; brother, Robert (Donna) Hanselman, of Woodstock, IL.
Bill had an extreme interest in the Native American Culture for many years and was an active member of The White Bear Society. He actively participated in their "pow-wows" and gatherings. Las Vegas was Bill's most favorite spot to travel, and especially enjoyed visiting if he knew "Willie Nelson" was appearing there, who is Bill's idol and was "Always on his Mind".
A "Celebration of Life" gathering for Bill will be held on Tuesday, May 7, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 12:30PM along with a prayer service to begin at 12:30 PM all at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
