Wanda H. Fijalkowska

Wanda H. Fijalkowska age 90, of Norridge, Illinois passed away on January 2, 2023. She was born in Lekowiec, Poland on July 30, 1932 the loving daughter of the late Tadeusz and Genowefa (Kowalska) Fijalkowska.

She is survived by her loving children, Mariusz Fijalkowski and Ilona Zipser; her grandchildren, David Zipser and Adrianna (Pawel) Habel; her great-grandchildren, Emily and Helena; she is also survived by her canine friend, "Misiu".

She served as a nurse in Grudziadz, Poland and also made it possible for so many people to come over to the United States for a better life and better future. 

Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 beginning at 10:00 AM at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin. 

Prayers will begin at 12:15 PM from the funeral home chapel and proceed to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin for a funeral Mass to begin at 1:00 PM.

Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine.

Szedł w szarym polu Chrystus Pan,  A przy nim orszak bosy.

Dziateczki, co na zżęty łan szły z miasta zbierać kłosy.

Cisną się do stóp Mu drobniutkiej tej czeladzi,

A Chrystus spuścił jasną dłoń, I główki dzieci gładzi.

„ Rośnijcie dzieci na pociechę ojcom swym i matkom

A jako słońce w chacie swej, wyzłoćci niską strzechę.”

A pośród nich była tam jedna sierotka mała

I słysząc to, co Chrystus rzekł, w te słowa się ozwała:

„A ja nie będę Panie ruść, bo na cóż to i komu?

Ojca i matki nie mam już, a także nie mam domu.”

A Chrystus rzekł: „Zaprawdę wiem i powiadam Wam moje dziatki:

Żaden nie jest z Was sierotą, choć nie ma ojca i matki.

Bo Ojcem mu jest niebios Pan, a Matką ziemia miła,

Która ich jak własnych pól, jak mlekiem wykarmiła.
