Ty Gordon Wasilk Obituary

Ty Gordon Wasilk, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois passed away peacefully on May 23, 2025 from pancreatic cancer. He was born in McHenry, Illinois on February 15, 1976 to John B. and Beverly Wasilk and lived in Lake in the Hills all his life.

Ty deeply loved his family and cherished every moment spent with them. He never missed a special occasion or holiday, always showing up with a full heart. One of the greatest examples of his love was the devoted care he gave to his mother. Traveling with her, making her laugh, and ensuring she felt loved every single day until her passing.

Through stories shared by friends and coworkers we’ve come to see just how far Ty’s kindness and support reached. He built a community around him.

Ty worked at Walmart for over 30 years, where he wasn't just a coworker, he was part of a family. Every holiday season, he brought smiles to countless children by dressing up as Santa Claus, listening to their wishes, and spreading Christmas cheer with unmatched warmth and sincerity. Over his time at Walmart he worked to also raise money for Children's Miracle Network.

He had a deep passion for professional wrestling and traveled far and wide, by car, train, and even boat, to attend matches and connect with the wrestling community. His ever-growing collection of memorabilia was a testament to the joy he found in the sport and the people involved in it.

Ty’s legacy is one of compassion, loyalty, and selflessness. He touched many lives with his kindness and will be remembered as someone who gave his all to support others, expecting nothing in return.

Survivors include his siblings, Linda (Mike) Tudor, John G. (Barb) Wasilk, Jackie (Rick) Sherman, Scot (Diane) Wasilk, and James (Melissa) Wasilk . His nephews and nieces, Travis (Melissa), Kevin (Carrie), Adam (Jennifer) and Samuel (Megan) Tudor, Amy (Daniel) Godfrey, John P. and Andrew Wasilk, Kellen Sherman, Cora and Emma Wasilk and Mason, Riley and Logan Wasilk; his great-nephew and nieces, Elayna and Gabriel Tudor, Ainsley Tudor, Emily Godfrey, Jaya and Maya Wasilk. Ty was preceded in death by his parents, and his great-niece, Olivia Tudor.
