Tressie R. Fluharty

Tressie R. Fluharty age 81, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away on November 28, 2021 at Northwestern-Huntley Medicine Hospital in Huntley, Illinois. She was born in Terre Haute, IN on July 16, 1940, and later moved to Chicago, IL with her Mother, Mary (Phillips) (Deckard), Step-Father, Fred Lindsay; and two brothers, Jim and Carl. 

She married Orvil, her husband of 52 years, after meeting him on a "blind-date" and a short courtship, on February 9, 1969. 

Tressie dearly loved her children, and enjoyed being a stay-at-home Mom until her youngest son was in school full time.  After working outside of the home for several years, she retired and started fostering cats and kittens for a local rescue.  She spent most Saturdays with her daughter Lori, who was also her best friend.  They would often go shopping all day, or just sit and talk for hours.

Tressie will be deeply missed by her husband, Orvil; Son, Michael (Jennifer);  Daughter, Lori;  Son, Ken (Jenni); Grandchildren, Matt, Ben, Lizzy, Penny, William; and her cats, Joey, Shirley, Delilah, and Suzy-Q. 

Cremation rites were accorded privately, and a celebration of life will be arranged for friends and family at a later time.
