Thomas “Thom” Henry Sindewald, age 67, passed away peacefully on November 8, 2021, surrounded by his loving family. Thom was born on September 11, 1954 to the late William and Valerie (Macis) Sindewald. Thom is survived by his adoring wife of 38 years, Lori (Glanzrock) and his three beloved daughters, Brooke (David), Rachael (Charlie), and Lea (Lee). A passionate grandfather to Sara, Ella, Taylor, Zoe, and Emma. A devoted brother to siblings Nancy (Joe), Bruce (Kathy), Judy (Jim), and Valerie (Rich) and an admired cousin, uncle, and great uncle to many beautiful people.
Thom attended Pittsburgh University where he was proud to play as a fullback on the Pitt Panthers 1976 National Championship team. After graduation, Thom dedicated his career to working in transportation, where his trade knowledge and reliability earned him a reputation for excellence. Outside of working hard, watching football, enjoying music and cooking, Thom’s primary focus in life was his family. He was a “girl dad” and went above and beyond to provide nothing but love, guidance and support to his daughters and granddaughters. As his family grew, he shared this same level of devotion with his son-in-laws and extended family. Thom will be dearly missed, but his memories are plentiful and live on with those many individuals whose lives he touched.
A memorial visitation will be held on Friday, November 12, 2021 from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM along with a prayer service to begin at 12:30 PM that afternoon all at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin Lake in the Hills.
