Teresa (Purta) Topolski

Teresa Topolski (Purta) age 84, of Schaumburg, Illinois and formerly of Chicago, Illinois went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus on the morning of Tuesday, April 14th.

She was born in Trzcianne Poland, on June 10, 1935 the loving daughter of Jan and Helen (Marcinkiewicz) Purta.

She is survived by her loving children, Elizabeth (Scott) Griffith, of Algonquin, Illinois and Konstanty (Stina) Topolski, of Elgin, Illinois; also her cherished grandchildren, Hannah and Luke Griffith.

Teresa was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Konstanty; her siblings, Tadeusz Purta, Kazimierz Purta, and Waldemar Purta.

Teresa’s hobbies were cooking, baking cookies with grandchildren, sewing, gardening (she loved planting and pruning her own and everyone else’s garden), praying (especially with her beloved prayer group), walking the beach at her home in Florida, singing, dancing the polka, cheering on Luke’s baseball games and Hannah’s volleyball games (Teresa played Volleyball when she was younger)…and recently her favorite activity was singing to John Denver’s Country Road, Take Me Home.

Keeping in compliance with the current CDC recommendations regarding gathering size (not to exceed more than 10 people at one time) a visitation will be held on Saturday, April 18, 2020 from 1:00 PM until 4:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.

A private family graveside service will be held at Maryhill Cemetery in Niles, Illinois.

The family is planning a Memorial Mass at St. Hyacinth Basilica in Chicago with a Memorial Luncheon at the White Eagle Restaurant at a later date and will be announced after restrictions are lifted.
