Shirley Jones

Shirley Jones (Klein) age 76, of Crystal Lake, Illinois passed away on August 18, 2024 at Ascension St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin, Illinois. She was born in Chicago Heights, Illinois on May 1, 1948 the daughter of Walter and Betty (Bricks) Klein.

Besides being an amazing wife. mother, and grandmother, Shirley was a skilled caregiver to many children whose parents were fortunate enough to know that her love and kindness would stay with their children far beyond the time she cared for them. She still receives cards and letters to this day. Shirley enjoyed being "Meme" to her grandchildren because that's what she called her grandmother. She enjoyed live theater, concerts, medical mystery novels, baking, and various arts and crafts. She was a gentle, sentimental lady. 

She is survived by her husband, Donald Jones; her sons, Michael (Michelle) Newquist and Keith (Carla) Newquist; her grandchildren, Kaily, Jake, Brody and Jimmy; her brother, Bill (Ilene) Klein; her nieces, Julie Vroman, Deborah (John) Van es, Lori (Efrain) Gonzalez and her nephews, Jeffrey (Sue) Klein and Jeff (Suzann) Schroeder. 

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her parents and grandparents. 

Visitation will be held on Friday, August 23, 2024 from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. followed with a prayer service and Words of Remembrances to be shared all at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.

Interment will follow at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to The American Cancer Society.
