Rocco A. Ranallo Jr. age 81, of Algonquin, formerly of the Bucktown neighborhood of Chicago passed away on October 22, 2022. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 18, 1941 to parents, Rocco A. Sr. and Anna (Martinek) Ranallo.
He was a U.S. Army Military Police Veteran during the Vietnam War era, Santo Domingo conflict and also a member of the Lake in the Hills American Legion Post #1231.
He was involved with the scouting program for many years and enjoyed them all. Rocco loved the Chicago Cubs, Bears and Blackhawks, but really enjoyed being creative in his garage and backyard. He also loved his birds and the beauty of the garden.
Rocco is survived by his beloved wife of almost 56 years, Maryann U. (Ciszewski) Ranallo; his daughter, Angela (Thomas) Rohden and his son, Rocco A. III (Amy) Ranello and his grandson, Magnus Rohden. Rocco was an uncle to many nieces and nephews, he loved his friends and cherished everyone.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 28, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM along with a prayer service to begin at 7:00 PM that evening all at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
​Visitation will continue on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 10:00 AM directly at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin, along with a Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at 11:00 AM. Interment with Military Honors to follow at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in McHenry, IL.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to AMITA Health Alexian Brothers Hospice Residence, 901 Martha St., Elk Grove Village, IL 60007, would be greatly appreciated.
