Robert Warren Newren age 100, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away on February 14, 2025. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 28, 1924.

Our forever Valentine died peacefully in his sleep knowing how much he was loved by all that knew him. Beloved father of his five children; Jan Siegel, Lyn Krysh (Rich), Chip Newren (Sharon), Amy Leibforth (Mike), and Lea Arceneaux (Rich). Loving grandfather of his seventeen grandchildren; Don Scott (Suzanne), JoAnna Ragsdale (David), Dan Krysh (Katie), Ron Siegel (Missy), Peter Krysh, Rob Krysh, Erik Newren, Mike Leibforth Jr, Luke Newren, Jenny Breilein (Tom), Adam Newren (Ryan), Sami Hass (Josh), Lauren Boryla (Pete), Jordan Leibforth,  Sarah Gonzalez (Javier), Kara Arceneaux (Robb) and Rachel Arceneaux. Great grandfather to Layla, Keenan, Thomas, Addi, Ruby, Logan, RJ, Amy, Gianna, Skye, Fletcher, Matthew, Colton, Joelle, Heidi and his 16th baby girl due in May. Many loving nieces and nephews and his sister-in-law, Rose Mary Meyer.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 60 years, June. His parents Erik and Lenore Newren, his sister Arlene and his infant grandson Matthew, as well as many loving in-laws.

Robert "Big Red" had a wonderful childhood growing up in Chicago, a lifelong Cubs fan. He graduated from Lane Tech High School and joined the Navy on his 19th birthday and served for three years in WWII. Saw his first mountains at Boot Camp in the Dakotas and traveled the seas to the Philippines, where his love of travel was born. He came home a hero and met the love of his life, June Meyer and they were married on March 20, 1948. He began his career as an engineer for the city of Chicago, where he landed at the H&R building at O’Hare Field and worked there for 30 plus years amongst life-long friends. 

Bob was able to travel on the WWII Honor Flight and was featured at Cubs Park on the Jumbo-tron  as a WWII veteran.  A BIG celebration was held at his home for his 100th birthday in April 2024. He was celebrated for 100 years of love and kindness by all of his loving family and cherished friends. He said it was the best day of his life and he partied the whole day long. He was a kind, loving man, husband and father/grandfather/ great grandfather, who loved life, all of his family and his country. He will be missed by all who knew him. RIP dad, from a life well lived. You will be forever in our hearts.

A visitation for Robert will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM along with Words of Remembrances to be shared and Military Honors to begin at 3:00 PM that afternoon all at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
