Robert "Bob" D. Miller age 68, of Algonquin passed away on Saturday June 8, 2024 at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Illinois with his loving family at his side. He was born on April 25, 1956 in Elgin, Illinois to Robert and Betty Miller. He was part owner of a machine shop for many years. Then, he had the opportunity to work for a very good friend doing landscaping.
Bob was a country boy at heart having grown up on a farm in Algonquin. He loved the quiet life. He bought several tractors that sadly he had to sell recently because of the sale of the farm. He loved to watch his grandsons Maddux and Brody play sports when he was able. Having many health issues later in life, he loved to scratch many a lottery ticket and won big once. He fought the big fight all the way to the end.
He is survived by his loving wife, Wendy (nee Varner) whom he married in 1980. His son Robert (Mishel), daughter Katie, grandsons Maddux and Brody Miller, his sister Sandy (Michael) Schroeder; nieces Julia (Joe) Ferwerda, Sarah Schroeder, sister-in law, Anne Miller, and his nephews Michael (Nicole) Miller, Mark Miller, and Andrew (Christine) Miller. Bob was preceded in death by his brother Marty, his parents, aunts, and grandparents.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to either St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee or to The American Heart Association.
