Robert Clayton Keyes of Algonquin passed away February 11, 2026 in Elgin. Born November 14, 1953 in Chicago to the late Harry and Rose Ann Keyes. Beloved father of Harrison Keyes and Meghan (Andrew) Hunt; loving brother of Gary Keyes.
Bob was an Army veteran, serving in Germany, for a total of three years. He became an air traffic controller at the busiest airport in the world, O’Hare, where he retired in 2009. A lifelong Chicagoan, he was a diehard Cubs fan and witnessed the 2016 World Series win in Cleveland in person, along with many Bulls, Blackhawks and Bears games. He loved music and concerts, and was always on the dance floor or behind the microphone at karaoke. He was also a long-time runner, logging many miles with his dogs, Coach and Ginger, and later logging many more miles behind the wheel of the family’s RV for summer vacations.
