Richard “Rich” Adamski age 71, of McHenry formerly of Chicago, passed away at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington, Illinois on December 2, 2022 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Amberg, Germany on December 31, 1950 the loving son of the Pawel and the Leokadia (Salamon) Adamski.
Richard was a retired Police Sergeant for the Chicago Police Department with 33 years of dedicated service for the 16th District of Chicago, formerly with the 19th and 24th districts. This was a lifelong dream and a proud accomplishment of his. He was a member of the Chicago Police Sergeants' Association.
He loved riding his Harley Davidson, traveling, camping and above all spending time with his family.
He was a devoted and loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, Teresa (Raida) Adamski; his loving children, Chrissy (Scott) Konior, Richie (Sheryl) Adamski, Bobby Adamski and Danny Adamski; his proud grandchildren, known to them as “Papa” to Frankie and Charlie Konior and Ricky and Ellie Adamski; his dear siblings, Pete (Grace) Adamski and Helen (Rich) Dycha; also survived by many other loved ones.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Visitation for Richard will be held on Friday, December 16, 2022 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM, along with a Saint Jude Police League Service, an evening prayer service and eulogies to all begin at 7:00 PM that evening at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, December 17, 2022 with prayers beginning at 10:00 AM from the funeral home chapel and proceed to St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin for a Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Chicago Police Memorial Foundation or to the charity of one's choice would be appreciated.
