Peter Joseph Berger Sr.

Peter Joseph Berger Sr., age 93, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois passed away March 23, 2025, with his loving family at his side.  He was born in Chicago, Illinois on June 27, 1931, the son of Peter John and Catherine (Fraunhoffer) Berger.

He was a United States Army Veteran serving during the Korean War.  Peter worked at the post office for many years as a mailman.  He loved getting together with his family and friends and was always on the go!  He enjoyed traveling, going out to eat, watching sports, westerns, and most of all watching movies with family and friends.

He is survived by his children, Brian Berger, Peter (Jama) Berger Jr. and his daughter-in-law, Patricia Berger; his grandchildren, Cassandra (Jose) Canchola, Brittany Berger, Michael Berger Jr., Patrick Berger, Kevin Berger Jr., Kelly (Justyn) Martinez his great-grandchildren, Leonardo Canchola, Francisco Canchola, and Anastasia Martinez.

His extended family, Debbie and Warren, Joey, Mike and Kathy, Bree, Kevin and Alyssa, Meagan and Jackson and many special friends!

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his loving wife, Mary S. Berger and his first wife, Diane S. (Tomasek) Berger, his sons, Michael Berger Sr., and Kevin Berger Sr., his siblings, Richard Berger and Dorothy (Berger) Correia, and son-in-law, Glenn Foster.

A "Celebration of Life" for Peter is being planned and will be announced.
