Pauline M. Orabutt (Rodi) age 87, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away on February 22, 2024, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 27, 1936, the daughter of Joseph and Mary (DeMaria) Rodi. Moved with her family in the mid 1940’s to Tucson, Arizona, where they owned and operated Vets’ Canteen Grocery. Moved back to Chicago where she eventually met the love of her life Richard J. Orabutt and they married on July 2, 1955. In 1969 Pauline and Richard move their family to Schaumburg, IL to raise their children. Pauline’s children remember her being a homemaker who enjoyed doing arts and crafts, drawing and playing the piano. Family was very important to Pauline, so cooking and baking helped create a warm home environment that had her children and their friends (who referred to her as Momma O) never stray far. She worked for over 20 years for the Village of Schaumburg in the Finance department before retiring and moving to Algonquin, IL. She spent this past year at The Vines Senior Home in Elgin, IL, where she was an avid Bingo player.
Pauline is survived by her loving children, Denise (Cindy Harbers) Orabutt, Rick (Peggy) Orabutt, John (Margie) Orabutt and Pam (Jeff) Ficarrotta; her grandchildren, Rev. Connor Orabutt, Ryan (Callie) Orabutt, Emily (Matt) Gierl, Katie McGee, Olivia Ficarrotta and Kyle Ficarrotta; her sister, Mary (the late David) Williams; also survived by many nieces & nephews.
In addition to her parents, Pauline was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard J. Orabutt and her sister, Victoria (the late Tony) Marchese.
