Patricia A. Mazzenga

Patricia A. Mazzenga (Widing) age 66, of Algonquin passed away peacefully on February 22, 2020 at Presence St. Joseph Hospital in Elgin with her loving family by her side.  Pat was diagnosed with a terminal lung disease in 2012 and was given one year to live.  God in His Mercy allowed her to remain with us for eight years beyond that prognosis.

She was born in Waukegan, IL on September 21, 1953 the beloved daughter of Raymond and Iva (Stedman) Widing.

She is survived by her loving daughter, Shelly (Chris) Haley, her cherished granddaughters, Vanessa and Kaitlyn; her siblings Kathy (Mike) Busch and David Widing; many nieces and nephews; and also by Shelly's In-laws, Dan, Shirley and Brian Haley and Kent and Emmy Brown. Beyond family, Pat loved her two Yorkies, Lady Jane and Itty Bitty.

As well as her parents, she is preceded in death by her siblings, Richard (Patricia) Widing, Karen (John) Haupt, Wayne (Lois) Widing, and her companion, George Gray.

Pat was an expert woodworker who created many pieces which will be treasured by family and friends for years to come.  Besides her woodworking skills she loved designing and making unique sewing and embroidery items again for family and friends to enjoy.  In addition she had created many team articles for all her granddaughter's sports and activities they happened to be involved in.  Her creative abilities will long be remembered for the happiness they brought to everyone she touched.

A memorial visitation will be held on Thursday, February 27, 2020 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. with an evening service at 7:00 p.m. at Willow Funeral Home and Cremation Care, 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one mile East of Randall Rd) Algonquin/Lake-in-the-Hills.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in memory of Pat to the Light of Christ Lutheran Church, 100 Hanson Rd., Algonquin, IL  60102.  Note that Pat's donation will go towards the Children's Choir.  Please include on the remarks column of your check Pat Mazzenga's Memorial.
