Nathanial “Nate” Davison age 42, passed away on November 23, 2024. He was born in DeKalb, Illinois to LuAnne Davison.
Nate graduated from Dekalb High School, where he was on the Golf Team. Nate did a lot in his life he learned the art of scratch baking from his beloved grandfather. He worked for many years at the family bakery and held several other baking positions after that. His most cherished position was at Gateway Foundation, where he found his calling as a Counselor. Nate found great purpose in helping others. He was a natural leader. Nate was an avid reader and traveler. He was a lifelong Chicago sports fan, particularly the Blackhawks. He also enjoyed watching UFC fights with friends. He was a devoted fan of the Grateful Dead and attended hundreds of their concerts. He traveled far and wide for live music, as well as standup comedy shows.
Nate did not marry but spent many years with the love of his life Rachel, who has become part of the family. Nate also dearly loved his four-legged travel companion Fee. His favorite past time was taking her for long hikes. He never left the house without her, calling her his “little ride-or-die”.
He was an avid pizza and ice cream eater, though he did not like cheese, which was a conversation at every family event, asking him if he wanted cheese on that.
Nate is survived by his mother, Luanne Davison of North Aurora, IL; his sister Megan Davison of Crystal Lake IL; his two nephews, Tobias Balin and Jericho Balin of DeKalb, IL; also, several aunts and uncles and cousins.
Nate is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents Lawrence and Evonne Rogers and his paternal grandfather, William Davison, Sr., and his aunt JoLynn Rogers.
The family would also like to thank Chris and Matt for the friendship, guidance and support they provided to Nate, we are grateful you were a part of Nate’s life. Donations can be made to Gateway Foundation in Lake Villa IL.
A ‘Celebration of Life” gathering will be held on December 7, 2024 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Trademark Events, 240 N. Throop Street, Woodstock, IL.
