Michael N. Kollios, age 72, of Algonquin, Illinois and formerly of Mt. Prospect, Illinois passed away at home on July 23, 2020 with his loving family at his side.
He was born in Sparta, Greece on August 8, 1947 to Nicholas and Vasalaki (Gianopoulos) Kollios.
Mike was an owner of many restaurants in the Chicagoland area; from 1971 to 2007. He loved everything about running a restaurant especially the people. He retired in 2007 to enjoy his family, bowling, fishing, traveling, and driving his motorcycle. He loved being with his grandchildren, and his dogs. Mike fought a long battle with multiple illnesses and his family was lucky enough to be with him when he passed.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Jeannette M. (Sublett) Kollios; his loving children, Bessie (James) Krupp, Nicholle (Sean) McHone and Matthew Kollios; his cherished grandchildren, Michael, Timothy, Natalie, Charlotte, Lauren and Georgia; his sister, Voula Limperopoulos.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother-in-law, John Limperopoulos.
We will miss him.
A Celebration of Life gathering for Michael will be held at the Kollios residence on Saturday, August 29, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at 440 South Dr., in Algonquin.
