Mia Yvette Alvarez age 21, was born on July 29, 2002 in Libertyville, Illinois. A most recent resident of Mount Airy, Georgia was taken from us in a tragic hit and run on December 2, 2023.
Mia was raised in Round Lake Beach, Illinois where she attended Ellis Elementary School. She moved to West Dundee, Illinois where she graduated from Harry D. Jacobs High School in Algonquin, Illinois.
Mia was an All Star cheer athlete for over 10 years. She put every ounce of effort and passion into her cheer career. She was also a cheerleading coach and mentor to young kids. She previously worked at a daycare and at the Boys and Girls of Elgin.
She moved to Mount Airy to begin the next chapter in her life as an adult. She started working at the Hampton Inn in Cornelia where she had already made a lasting impression.
Her passion was working with and teaching children. She had aspirations of continuing her education and aiding in children's development. Mia was a magnetic, big hearted, infectious personality that touched everyone's lives.
Mia is survived by her parents, Maria L. Alvarez and Carlos Garcia II; Mardonio and Angela Alvarez Jr.; her siblings: Mercedes L. Rios, Noel J Alvarez, Felix M. Alvarez, Rebecca Brown (Garcia), Raquel Garcia, Carlos Garcia III, Juan Garcia, Nelson Alvarez, Julian Alvarez, Anthony Alvarez and Ariana Alvarez.

“Goodbye’s are not forever,
Goodbye’s are not the end,
They simply mean I’ll miss you until we meet again”
