Mark Frederick Ifkovits age 65, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois, passed away on July 3, 2024 at the Foster G. McGraw-Loyola Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois. He was surrounded by family and passed into eternal life peacefully. Mark was born in Chicago, Illinois the son of Frederick and Jennell (McDaniel) Ifkovits.
He graduated from Addison Trail High School and earned an Associates degree in data processing from Daytona Beach Community College. Mark excelled at his career at Aon and Amazon. Mark loved all things water, the ocean, beaches, lakes, pools, and just being out on a boat out on Lake Michigan. One of his favorite pastimes was spending time with his nieces and nephews and step grand kids. He loved watching them all play in many sports. Mark loved the Blackhawks, Bears, Cubs all Chicago sports.
In addition to his parents, Mark was preceded in death by his sisters, Jennifer (Ron) Joniak, and Colleen Ifkovits as well as his niece, Colleen Marie Gleason.
He is survived by his brother, Jeff (Phyllis) Ifkovits, Christine (Mike) Gleason, his wife, Zofia Poreda, his step-daughter, Iwona (the late Peter)) Gruczol: his step grand kids, Angelika and Daniel, his nieces, Nicole, Michael (Ifkovits), Natalie, Michael (Gleason), Blake, Ron and Jeremy.
A Memorial Visitation for Mark will be held on Thursday, July 11, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Friday, July 12, 2024 at 11:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin. A visitation will continue at the church beginning at 10:00 AM.
