Maria Rose Muellner

Maria Rose Muellner (Liquori) age 90, of Huntley, Illinois passed away on March 30, 2025. She was born in Italy on May 6, 1934.

Maria loved to cook and bake, we had countless holiday gatherings either at our house or her brother Joe’s (Fran) they would cook for an army, which is what we ate like, she also was the head chef at Notre Dame High School for girls in Chicago for 30 years, she also was in charge of the girls who cleaned up after school. During her free time Maria loved to play bingo (every Thursday at Notre Dame HS), playing the slots at the casino and the Kentucky Derby.

Maria is survived by her loving children, Ralph (Darlene) Muellner, Maryjane (the late Joseph) DeFranco, Michael Muellner, Anthony (Cristina) Muellner; her grandchildren, Catherine Muellner, Joseph (Stefanie) DeFranco, Nicole (Mark) Rosczyk, Nicholas Rivera (Maria) Anthony Muellner and Angelina Muellner; step-grandchildren Vince DeFranco (Mary), Steve DeFranco (Mary), her great-grandchildren, Joey, Sonny, Cole, Madelyn, Leah, Nicholas; step-great- grandchildren, Michelle, Alex and Cassandra, she was also a loving aunt and great-aunt to many nieces & nephews.

Maria was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frederick John “Fritz” Muellner Sr.; her son, Frederick John Muellner Jr. her grandson, Anthony DeFranco; her parents, Michael and Eugenia (Oneora) Liquori and her loving parents who raised her as a child, Ralph and Estelle Liquori; her siblings, Joseph (Fran) Liquori, Romolo (the late Stella) and Fiore (the late Maria) Liquori.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 from 3:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 4, 2025 with prayers to begin at 9:00 AM from the funeral home chapel and proceed to St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Rd., Huntley for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 10:00 AM.

Family & friends will meet on Friday, April 4, 2025 directly in front of the cemetery office of Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1400 S. Wolf Rd., Hillside for a 1:15 PM graveside service. (Please enter the cemetery from Wolf Rd.).
