Lynn James Gish

Lynn James Gish “Frankie” age 72, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away on May 21, 2022. He was born in Queens, NY on April 20, 1950 to Leon M and Adele (Coyle) Gish.

He is survived by his beloved companion of 18 years, Cheryl DeSmidt; his loving children, Ryan (Jenny) Gish, Lauren Gish, Kim (Steve) Cetnarowicz and TJ (Emily) DeSmidt; his cherished grandchildren, McKenzie, Ben, Theo, Jackson and Levi, a brother, Noel Gish and sisters, LeeAnn (Tom) Decillis and Pam (Marty) Rizzo; he is also an uncle to many.

Lynn loved spending time with family and friends. He was energized by conversations with everyone & anyone. Moving out from Long Island, NY to the Chicago suburbs, Lynn spent just shy of 40 years with United Airlines. He was always ready to open the front door, invite you in, open a bottle of wine and start cooking a meal. He loved anything airplanes, all sports, music concerts, fishing and gardening.​

Visitation will be held on Thursday, May 26, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills. (Prayer Service to begin at 7:00 PM)

Family & friends will gather on Friday, May 27, 2022 beginning at 11:30 AM directly at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin, with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 12 noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at stjude.org or Tunnel to Towers Foundation, 2361 Hylan Blvd., Staten Island, NY 10306 at t2t.org would be appreciated.

Interment private.
