Lawrence L. Stone

Lawrence L. “Larry” Stone, age 85, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2024 with his family at his side. He was born in Detroit, Michigan on March 27, 1939 the son of Louis and Rose (Boodin) Stone.

Larry is survived by his beloved wife of 63 years, Joan (Watt) Stone; his loving children, Lisa (Edy) Hanlon, Jeff (Lainie) Stone and Greg (Courtney) Stone; his cherished grandchildren, Nicholas (Stephanie), Jacob, Grace, Nicholas, and Dakota; his dear brother, Richard (Cathy) Stone. uncle to many.

A Weyerhaeuser employee of 30-plus years, who took advantage of multiple opportunities with his Company, allowing him to relocate and experience multiple states and communities with his family. Larry had a passion for making the best of great weather by taking a long ride in his cherished Corvette. He was a longtime member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Algonquin, and a vibrant part of the Church community.

Family & friends will gather for visitation to be held on Thursday, May 16, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until time of an 11:00 a.m. Funeral Service directly at St. John's Lutheran Church, 320 Jefferson St., Algonquin.

Interment will be held privately.
