Lawrence Francis Majewski

Lawrence Francis Majewski age 78, of Algonquin, Illinois passed away at his home on May 4, 2020 with his loving family at his side. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on July 16, 1941 to Francis and Frances (Smith) Majewski.

Larry was a life insurance agent for Prudential with over 20 years of service. He was also the company’s main source of entertainment as the designated comedian for employees’ retirement events. He was a sculptor, both in the sense of bodybuilding and house craftsmanship. During retirement, Larry dedicated his life to being a stay-at-home father, volunteer, and spiritual leader. He was a proud member of the St. Margaret Mary Knights of Columbus El Cardunal Assembly #2381. He directed retreats, drawing upon his own religious experiences to touch the spiritual lives of others. Larry’s portfolio as an artist included Halloween makeup and prosthetics, portraits, three-dimensional landscape models, theatre backdrops, and cartoon advertisements. He also led an elementary school art program, Meet the Masters, for St. Margaret Mary students. Larry enjoyed nature through bike riding and fishing trips. 

He is survived by his beloved wife Gail (Callahan) Majewski, his loving children, Ariel, Mark, and Scott; his cherished grandchildren Brittany, Ella and Nathaniel; and his nieces & nephews, Janice, Marilyn, Michael, Gary, Rita, and Cris.

In addition to his parents, Larry was preceded in death by his siblings, Margaret Gianni, Thomas Majewski, Elizabeth Majewski and his nephew and niece, Tom Gianni and Helen Weidig.

Keeping in compliance with the CDC recommendations regarding gathering size (not to exceed more than 10 people at one time and face masks will be required) a visitation will be held on Saturday, May 9, 2020 from 12:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W.
