Kurt Osterheld, age 60 of Algonquin, passed away September 18, 2021. He was born on December 11, 1960 in West Islip, New York and moved to Weston, Connecticut at age five and Worthington, Ohio at age ten. He graduated from Worthington High School in 1978. He then attended The Ohio State University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Kurt continued his studies at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, where he earned a Masters Degree in Business Administration. After settling in the Chicago area, he had a successful career in the accounting field, including a long tenure working for AT&T. Most recently, he owned and operated a Huntington Learning Center. He loved tutoring young people and helping them to improve their test scores. His amazing math abilities allowed him to solve complex problems in his head faster than most people could do on a calculator.
Kurt had a passion for golf and was quite a good player. Among his career highlights, he participated in the Oldsmobile Scramble, where his team represented the state of Illinois in a national tournament in Orlando, Florida.
Kurt was a loving father, and he was extremely proud of his three daughters and their many accomplishments.
Kurt was preceded in death by his parents, Herbert and Edythe Osterheld. He is survived by three children- Kate (Chris), Carly (Jeremy), and Suzanne; he is also survived by his brother Mark (Karen), niece and nephew Sarah and Brian, and many friends.
A visitation for Kurt will be held on Friday, September 24, 2021 from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM with an evening prayer service and a Time of Sharing to begin at 7:00 PM all at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills
Family & friends will gather on Saturday, September 25, 2021 beginning at 10:00 AM followed by an 11:00 AM Mass of Christian Burial to be Celebrated directly at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin.
Inurnment will follow at Algonquin Cemetery in Algonquin.
