Karen A. Polletta (Koob) age 73, of Algonquin, passed away on July 20,2021 with her loving family at her side. She was born in Evanston, Illinois on December 3, 1947 the daughter of Albert and Pearl Koob;
She is survived by her beloved husband of 55 years, Frank Polletta; her loving children, Jeff (Sylvia) Polletta, Bryan Polletta and Aimee (Rick) Dever; her cherished grandchildren, Jeremy (Kristianna), Jason, Jessica, Taryn, Nick, Annie and Adam; her sweet great- grandchildren, Tatum, Jordyn, Ray, Dax, and Lon; her brother, Richard (Judy) Koob, her sister, Connee Pines, and her sister-in-law, Karyn O’Connell. She was also the fond aunt of many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her loving grandson Frank, and her two brothers-in-law, Bill Pines and Gary O’Connell.
Karen was a caregiver by nature. She had a special gift of a nurturing spirit that exuded calmness and peace to those she loved most. Karen also had a special gift in the kitchen. Nothing brought her more joy than being able to provide a favorite meal to her grateful family. Her dedication to the church was also apparent and she found much of her peace and strength through prayer.
Family and friends will gather on Friday, July 23rd, 2021 for a visitation to begin at 10:00am at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin. A funeral mass will also be celebrated at 11:00 am.
In lieu of flowers, Karen’s family would request that you bring/send school supplies that will be added to the church’s collection for children in need. Karen was passionate about this collection.
