John J. Pianowski, age 104, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois, and formerly of Bloomingdale, Illinois, passed away on June 29, 2024 with his loving family at his side. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on October 23, 1919, the loving son of James and Catherine (nee Lipowski) Pianowski.
He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and a former member of the U.S Army Air Corps. Honorably serving during WWII. John was an avid golfer competing in tournaments around the country and club champion at 3 different country clubs.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Loretta (nee Bennett) Pianowski and his second wife, Rosemarie (nee LaCrosse) Pianowski.
John is survived by his beloved son, James Pianowski and daughter-in-law, Susan Logan, his cherished grandchildren, James Pianowski, Paula Joy Pianowski, Krista (Bronson) Cook and Maxwell Logan, and his proud great-grandson, Logan Cook.
John is also survived by his step-sons, Craig (Sally) and Gary (Suzanne) LaCrosse, his treasured grandchildren, Tracy (Craig) Zoberis, Michael (Janis), Steven (Jen), Jeff (Danielle), Brian (Katy), and Scott (Kathryn) LaCrosse, and adoring great-grandchildren, Andrew, Connor, Nicholas, Natalie, Gillian, Jacqueline, Mackenzie, Brooklyn, Mia, Ashley, Layne, Ally, Sophia, Charlotte, Lincoln, Harrison and Graham.
Visitation for John will be held on Friday, July 5, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM along with a prayer service and eulogies to be shared that evening beginning at 7:00 PM all at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
Family & friends will meet for a committal service along with Miliary Honors under the auspices of the U.S. Army on Saturday, July 6, 2024 at 10:00 AM directly at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery Mausoleum, 1400 S. Wolf Rd., Hillside. (please enter off of Wolf Rd., the mausoleum is the building just to the far right side).
