Joan E. Morison

Joan E. Morison (Burkhardt) age 81, most recently of Crystal Lake, IL and formerly of Elk Grove, Illinois passed away on September 24, 2024 with her loving family at her side. She was born in Blue Island, Illinois on October 5, 1942 the loving daughter of Lawrence and Alfretta (Young) Burkhardt. Joan loved her family and would do anything to ensure they were cared for and loved. She loved people and the many pets she had throughout her life. Joan worked for many years at Marshall Fields in the fur coat department. She enjoyed meeting people and had a heart of gold. Her grandchildren were very dear to her. She enjoyed spending time with them. One of their favorite places to go was Steak ‘n Shake where they shared many laughs and conversations. Joan dedicated her life to caring for others. She took care of her Mom in her home for many years, as well as volunteering in hospice care and local nursing homes. Joan was a very humble soul and her faith was very important to her. She will be missed by everyone whose lives she touched over the years. Joan is survived by her 3 daughters, Laurel (Jim) Sorenson, Michelle (Steve) Hoover and Suzanne Greco; her grandchildren, Ryan, Kaylee, Emilee, Samantha and Dorian; her great-grandchildren, Thomas, Reese, Charlotte and Arianna; her siblings, Patricia Fitzsimmons, Lawrence (Lynne) Burkhardt and David (Charlene) Burkhardt; her nieces & nephews, Kathleen Levin, James Fitzsimmons, Keith Burkhardt, Ashley Duva and Jay Manske. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Gordon Morison, her granddaughter, Paige Hoover; her son-in-law, Chris Greco and her brother-in-law, James Fitzsimmons.
Cremation rites were held privately. A private family graveside service will be held at Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Orland Park, Illinois on Saturday, October 19, 2024. Arrangements entrusted with Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care in Algonquin, Illinois.
