Jeffrey John Cleys

Jeffrey John Cleys, age 68, of Crystal Lake, Illinois, passed away on June 6, 2025. He was born in Chicago, Illinois, on May 15, 1957, the son of Florian and Evelyn (Unterriner) Cleys.

Jeff “yum yum” had a larger than life personality, always the loud one who loved to make people laugh. A skilled electrician, he enjoyed helping others whenever he could. His passion for motorcycles and fishing brought him great joy, and he loved nothing more than spending time with the love of his life, Kimberly, his children and grandchildren. Jeff truly cherished being a grandpa, and he was deeply loved by so many people. He will be very, very missed.

He is survived by his wife, Kimberly Spence; his children, Vanessa (Adam) Cleys and Amanda (Kayleb) Burritt; Angela (Chris) Contrino, Ashley Spence, and Adam Spence; his grandchildren, Parker, Koan, Scarlett, Vivian, and Frankie; Nolan, Grayson, and Aiden; his siblings, Ron (Julie) Cleys and Larry (Dorothy) Cleys; his children’s mother, Cathy Cleys; and many nieces and nephews who adored their Uncle Jeff.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

A "Celebration of Life" visitation for Jeffrey will be held on Tuesday, June 10, 2025 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.

Cremation rites will be held privately.
