Jeannie Winder, aged 73, of Crystal Lake, Illinois and formerly of Anaheim, California, passed away peacefully at her home on April 4, 2023, with her loving family by her side. She was born in Ranger, Texas on December 24, 1949, the daughter of John and Melba Jean (Mathis) Ownby.
Jeannie was an avid bookworm whose favorite authors were Danielle Steele and John Grisham. She enjoyed watching Disney movies with her grandchildren and cooking for her family. Her kitchen was like her second home and always smelled great. She went on many road trips across the country to visit family. She always looked forward to family functions.
Jeannie loved springtime however Christmas was her favorite holiday. She’ll always be remembered as a fan of the San Francisco 49’ers, the color red, and photographing quilt barns and sunflowers.
Everyone who knew her thought of her as a sweet, caring, and kindhearted woman that never met a stranger.
Jeannie is survived by her beloved husband, Wayne Winder of 54 years and their loving children, Brian Winder and Kimberly Winder; her cherished grandchildren, Aric, Brianna, Logan, Cristina, Makayla and Cassidy; her sister Kathy Corbett and her brother, John Ownby.
