James “Jim” Stumpner age 63, of Crystal Lake, passed away on September 23, 2025. He was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on November 19, 1961 to John and Patricia Stumpner.
Jim was married to Sue on September 2, 1989 in Crystal Lake, sharing 36 years together.
He worked as a civil engineer at the Illinois Department of Transportation for 38 years until he retired in 2023. He enjoyed running, fishing, hunting and cheering on the Packers and Brewers.
Jim was a devoted follower of Christ and an active member of Abiding Peace Lutheran Church in Elgin.
Jim will be sadly missed by his wife, Susan Stumpner; his children, Nicole (Andrew) Lipka, Andrew (Allison) Stumpner and Jessica Stumpner; his siblings, John Stumpner, Janet (Jon) Schmidt, Jean (Jeff) Badciong and Jeff Stumpner; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Visitation for Jim will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2025 from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, September 29, 2025 at 11:00 AM directly at Abiding Peace Lutheran Church, 9N976 Randall Rd., Elgin.
