Jacob Joseph Germoso, age 46, of Algonquin, Illinois, passed away peacefully at his home on March 8, 2023, with his loving family at his side. He was born in Weehawken, NJ on August 26, 1976, to Jose R. and Lydia G. (Valle) Germoso.
Jacob was a proud Veteran of the United States Marine Corps. He served his country from 1998 until 2005. Jacob’s hard work and determination earned him multiple certifications in Automation Engineering. He loved music and spent time learning the craft of being a deejay. Loved to share music facts and show music videos. His favorite genre was the 80’s. Jacob had a wonderful sense of humor; he was witty and quick with the one-liners. He could mimic voices and reenact scenes from movies and tv shows. Some of his favorite movies were Blood In Blood Out and Starship Trooper and some of his favorite tv shows were Game of Thrones and Dr. Who. Jake was always determined to master a skill, like cooking, martial arts, playing poker, video games, and any home improvement. He also became a weapons enthusiast.
In addition to his loving parents, Jacob is survived by his older brother, Luis (Yolanda) Germoso, his younger brother, Alex Germoso, his loving and dedicated girlfriend, Samantha Wozniak, his great-nephews, Owen, and Eric; his cousins, Manoli (Lazaro) Valencia, Ligia (Tony) Merino, Liana (Venice) Anderson, Marissa (Greg) McClung, Carlos Valle, Hector (Hilary Headrick) Valle, Alexander Valle, Alvin Valle, Lucy Valle, Carlo (Meriem) Valle, Cesar (Rosa) Tinoco, Fabian (Fernando Toro) Valle, Jessica (Ronald) Allen, Gustavo Zuniga, Jr., Madelene Lopez, Mariel Porres, Jennifer (John) Puente, Cynthia(Rich) Cortez, and Marco (Shannon Ball) Reyna, many aunts, uncles, and second cousins.
Jacob was preceded in death by his niece, Vanessa Germoso, his grandparents, Rafael Emilio and Ligia V. Germoso, Armando Valle, and Maria T. Guardado, and his great-aunt, Donatila Guardado.

A memorial visitation for Jacob will be held on Saturday, April 8, 2023 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM along with a chapel service and eulogies to begin around 1:00 PM and Military Honors to being at 4:00 PM all that afternoon at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
