Gwen Schaar Obituary

Gwendolyn  Kay “Gwen” Schaar age 73, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois formerly of Mt. Prospect,  passed away at home with her loving family at her side. She was born in Alexandria, VA on March 22, 1948. She was the daughter of George and Mary Thodos

Gwen is survived by her beloved husband, Edmund Schaar; her loving sons, Jeff (Nikki) Schaar, Rob (Lori) Schaar and Randy Schaar; her cherished grandchildren, Chloe (Clark) Jensen, Keegan, Cassidy, Brandon and Allison; her brother, Bill (Kathy) Thodos.

Gwen, a.k.a. Punkie, lettered in Softball, Basketball, Track, and Field Hockey in high school, she was also a Majorette.  She loved cooking, crafting, sewing and hosting family parties. 

She worked in the Medical Billing field for over 40 years and loved her summer vacations at the beach in Ocean City, Maryland. 

Gwen was a die hard Chicago Cubs, Bears, and Bulls fan.  She was very proud of all of her grandchildren and loved attending all of their sporting events.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, August 1, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 3:00 PM along with a Time of Sharing to begin at 2:30 PM that afternoon at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin.
