Gloria A. Smith

Gloria A. Smith (Swanson) age 90, of Huntley, Illinois and formerly of the Wynstone Community of North Barrington, Illinois passed away on August 10, 2022. She was born in Harvey, Illinois on November 11, 1931 to parents Harold Nells and Marie (Gora) Swanson.

Gloria was a nurse by profession, loved to cook, was an avid golfer and loved dogs. She enjoyed kettle bells, yoga and trips to Florida with her friends from her Sun City Community.

She is survived by her son, Mark (Joan Harrod) Smith of Walla Walla, Washington State and her daughter, Gail (Keith) Sklar of Naples, Florida; her grandchildren, Samantha (Fiancé, Ian Rusnak) Sklar, Marcy (George) Nissan and Blaine (Jason) Thomas; her great-grandchildren, George and Eleanor.

In addition to her parents, Gloria was preceded in death by her husband, William A. Smith.

​A memorial gathering will be held on Monday, September 26, 2022 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM along with a Time of Sharing to begin at 5:30 PM that evening at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.

In lieu of flowers, memorials in memory of Gloria may be directed to the Animal House Shelter, 13005 Ernesti Rd., Huntley, Il 60142.
