Gerald R. “Jerry” Panczko age 86, of Algonquin passed away at home under the care of hospice and surrounded by his family on Tuesday morning, June 25, 2024. He was born on December 19, 1937 in Chicago and was the son of Frank and Adeline (Zonca) Panczko. On June 1, 1963 he married Barbara A. Szwankowski. Gerald was a proud U.S. Army Veteran, a resident the of the Algonquin area for 51 years and also a member of St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church in Algonquin. Survivors include his daughters, Cherie (Zenon) Zdany and Michele (Joe) Capetillo; his grandchildren, Brandon (Kristen), Brianna, Ayrton, Caitlyn and Noah; his great-children, Emerson and Jackson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Barbara A. Panczko in 2017. Family & friends will gather on Saturday, July 6, 2024 beginning at 10:30 a.m. directly at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin, followed by a Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Interment along with Military Honors under the auspices of the U.S. Army will follow to St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery in Palatine.
