Florencio Alonzo Obituary

Florencio C. Alonzo age 84, of Lake in the Hills passed away on February 6, 2021 at Sherman Hospital in Elgin with his family at his side. He was born in the Philippines on November 7, 1936 to Gregorio and Cecilia Alonzo. He is survived by his wife, Agueda Alonzo; his children, Chito (Rose) Alonzo, Wilfredo (Ma. Cristina Jimenez) Alonzo and Jem (Joy) Alonzo; his grandchildren, Archie (Rona) Alonzo, Cherwin (Trina) Alonzo, Chuck (Alyssa Guarin) Alonzo, Elise (Mark) Cabrillos, William Troy Alonzo and James Alonzo; his great- grandchildren, Raenard, Raendel, Lincoln, Colleen, Ilianna, Ilainne and Myrcella; his siblings, Rodolfo Alonzo, Felicidad Naval, Fortunato Alonzo, Rosalinda Gonzalez and Ruben Alonzo. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Victoria Venegas and Carmelita Lascuna. Florencio will be remembered as a kind, loving, generous, and supportive husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.

A visitation will be held Thursday, February 11, 2021 from 3:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd. (one mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.

The family wishes everyone to be safe in this time of coronavirus and respects and understands that some may be unable to attend for health concerns. If you feel ill in any way - please stay at home. If you are able to attend, please follow the funeral director's guidance.

***In keeping within compliance with the current CDC recommendations regarding gathering size, all visitors must keep a safe distance of at least 6 feet and refrain from hugging or consoling the mourners. Upon entering the building all attendees must wear a face covering at all times within the funeral home.

A Funeral Mass for Florencio will be Celebrated on Friday, February 12, 2021 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Rd., Huntley.

Interment will follow at Dundee Twp. Cemetery - East., 420 Dundee Ave., East Dundee (only 50 people will be allowed at the graveside service at any given time) additional attendees must remain in their cars to be part of the service.
