Esther Ann Grzenia (Malatesta) age 97, of Lake in the Hills passed away on April 4, 2020 in Algonquin.

She was born in Chicago, Illinois on December 19, 1922 the daughter of Michael and Theresa (Volpe) Malatesta.

She is survived by her husband, Leonard W. Grzenia: her children, Gerald (Adriene) Grzenia, Gloria (Robert) Zagozdon and Anita (Vern) Gilbert; her 10 grandchildren; her 8 great-grandchildren; her sister-in-law, Grace Malatesta; she is also an aunt of many and survived by several cousins.

In addition to her parents, Esther is preceded in death by her siblings, Jerome Malatesta, Joseph (the late Florence) Malatesta, Mario (the late Irene) Malatesta and Anthony Malatesta.

Esther enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, flowers, gardening, traveling and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Funeral services are being held privately with her family.

Arrangements are entrusted with Willow Funeral Home in Algonquin.
