Elia Carmela Mercuri

Elia Carmela Mercuri (nee Santucci) age 92, of Huntley, Illinois passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on October 30, 2023.  She was born on November 13, 1930 in Pizzone, Italy to the late Pasquale and Domenica Santucci.  Beloved wife of the late Pericle; devoted mother of the late Francesco (Marie), Rosaria (late Dr. Theodore Ford),  late Dr. Domenica (Candido Ronchetti), Emma and Deidra; loving grandmother of Eileen, Carla (Bob Dudley), Denise (Alan White), Roberta, Pericle (Ashley), Lorenzo, Michael (LuAnn), Francesca, Stefano, Valeria (Diego Milana), Monica (Nico Spada), Alexandra (Mark Thompson), Angela, Daltyn, Joslyn, Kai and cherished great-grandmother of Eddie, Frankie, Lola, Rickie, Livia, Billy, Elise, Hunter, Henry, Edith, Archer, Lorenzo, Jax, Gianluca, Sofia, Gabriele and Theodore. She was a fond aunt and dear friend to many. Elia is preceded in death by her siblings, Cristina, Concetta, Antonio, Edoardo and the late Abele (Clara). A visitation to honor the life and legacy of Elia will be held Thursday, November 2, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Willow Funeral Home 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.  Family & friends will gather directly at the church for a Funeral Mass to be celebrated on Friday, November 3, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Rd. in Huntley with second visitation one hour prior to the Funeral Mass to begin at 9:00 a.m.  Entombment will follow at McHenry County Memorial Park in Woodstock.
