Edward J. “Eddy” Staron age 74, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois passed away in Genoa City, Wisconsin on February 17, 2024. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on March 8, 1949.
He grew up in Lake in the Hills, Illionois and graduated from Irving Crown High School in 1967. He worked at Union Special and Hills-McCanna who eventually became Rockwell International. In his earlier years, he enjoyed riding his bicycle, playing softball and bowling. He was an avid sports fan. He loved watching baseball and football (Raiders fan) and would always listen to music while he exercised. He was known as our “history buff”. You would always see him watching TV and would hardly miss an episode of Jeopardy and Price is Right. He always dreamed of winning the lottery and what he would do with the one lump sum payout.
Ed is survived by his sister, Gail (Dennis) Vogt, Brian (Trisha) Vogt, Amanda (Charles) Vogt-Frazier, Heather (James) Kvidera, Mark Karsten Jr., Jennifer (Nash) Wilson, and several other nieces and nephews.
He was a great uncle to 14 and great-great uncle to 5.
Ed was preceded in death by his parents, Walter C. and Shirley M. (Schumacher) Staron, his sisters, Shirley M. Karsten, Linda A. Potts, his nephews, Jeffrey Kane Foglesong and Eric Allen Foglesong and a great-great nephew, Myles Douglas Sorensen.
Visitation for Edward will be held on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
