Edmund Schaar, Jr. Obituary

Edmund Arthur Schaar Jr. age 78, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois formerly of Mt. Prospect, passed away in Huntley on May 2, 2022. He was born in Chicago, Illinois the son of Edmund Arthur Sr. and Hazel (Kittredge) Schaar.

He attended Lane Tech, where he learned the Printing trade and graduated in 1962.   

He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and a member of the Lake in the Hills American Legion Post #1231

Edmund was a die hard Chicago Cubs fan.  He loved coaching his sons' baseball teams and taking summer vacations to Ocean City, Maryland. 

He enjoyed his daily newspaper and morning walks with neighbor friends.  He was very proud of all of his grandchildren and adored all of his dogs through the years, Mugsy, Max, Molly, Maggie and Mandy.

Edmund is survived by his loving sons, Jeff (Nikki) Schaar, Rob (Lori) Schaar and Randy Schaar; his cherished grandchildren, Chloe (Clark) Jensen, Keegan, Cassidy, Brandon and Allison.

In addition to his parents, Edmund was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Gwendolyn Kay “Gwen” Schaar in July of 2021.

A memorial visitation will be held on Sunday, June 5, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. along with a time of sharing to begin at 2:30 p.m. followed with Military Honors at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
