Obituary

Edgar G. Dees age 85, of Carpentersville passed away on December 14, 2020 at Advocate Good Shepherd Hospital in Barrington. He was born in Corinth, Mississippi on April 15, 1935 to Edgar Homer and Vera (Cook) Dees.

He was a proud U.S. Army Veteran and worked for Delta Airlines with 33 years of dedicated Service. Ed enjoyed listening to Jazz music, he was an avid reader, World traveler, Chicago sports fan, enjoyed crosswords and especially spending time with his family.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 61 years, Judith M. (nee McCluskey); his devoted children, Anthony (Donna), Michael (Judy), Suzanne (David) Potter, June (Len) Samek and Jean Cook.

He was the cherished "Papa" to Eric, Michael, Nicole, Tiffany (Adam), Jessica, Katie (Andy), Kyle (Dani), Hannah, Ryan, Brett, Ashley, Kimberly and the late Peyton; a proud great-grandfather to Noah, Emma, Carleigh and Wyatt; also survived by siblings, Kage (Betty Sue) Dees, Linda (Gary) Williams, Roger (Julie) Dees and Jeff (Jennifer) Dees. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Donald, Wayne, Hilly, Bobby and Cathy; uncle of many.

A visitation for Edgar will be held on Friday, December 18, 2020 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin.

Family & friends will gather on Saturday, December 19, 2020 directly at St. Monica Catholic Church 90 N. Kennedy Dr., Carpentersville for a Funeral Mass to be Celebrated at 10:00 AM followed by Military Honors under the auspices of the U.S. Army.

Cremation rites will be accorded privately. A private family inurnment will held at Windridge Memorial Park in Cary.
