Douglas G. Stewart

Douglas G. Stewart age 73, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois passed away at his home on March 23, 2024. He was born in Alexandria, Louisiana on June 30, 1950 to John Wesley and Lena (Millhouse) Stewart.

Douglas graduated from Southern University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and earned additional certificates in the same discipline.  Douglas was dedicated to his career in the defense industry that included 17 years at Honeywell and 18 years at Northrop Grumman where he worked until his retirement in 2021.

Doug, as he was best known, enjoyed spending time with family and going on new adventures. Some of Doug’s hobbies included photography, model airplanes and more recently 3-D printing.

Surviving are his two loving daughters, Kapula Patalinghug and Tekulve Stewart; his son-in-law George Patalinghug, his grandson, Amar Patalinghug; his former wife, Kathlyn G. Stewart and a host of family, friends, and former colleagues. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings.

Cremation took place privately.
