Dorothy Jean "Dottie" Sippel

Dorothy Jean “Dottie” Sippel (Becker) age 79, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois passed away at Northwestern Medicine-Huntley Hospital in Huntley, Illinois on September 10, 2024 with her loving family at her side. She was born in Bushnell, South Dakota on March 5, 1945 the daughter of Carl and Dorothy (Vanderbush) Becker.

Dottie worked at Union Special in Huntley for 56 years. Walgreens in Woodstock for 34 years. She loved to travel. Bowling, gardening and spending time with family and friends. She also loved spending time with her dog Duchess. She enjoyed watching Game Show Network.  

She is survived by her beloved husband of 30 years, William “Bill” Sippel; her loving grandchildren, Clinton Adcock, Skyra Miller, Heather Zaranto, David (Ashley) Westra, Audrianna (Kevin) Westra, Zachary Westra, Shane Westra, Keagan Smothers, Tamara (Michael) Nellessen and Lloyd Bounds; her cherished great-grandchildren, Elijah, Gabriel, Abigail, Athena, Mattheau, Zahkai, Jazmine, Kaitlyn, Josilyn, Lyryc, Kadence, Kayne, Logan, Greyson, Rhyker, Shane, Tyler, Marilyn, Loralie, Harrison and Gideon; her brothers, Bill (Jan) Becker and Larry (Janeen) Becker and her sister, Irene Bain; her many nieces & nephews.

Dottie’s family would like to express a special thank you to Dan and Pam Susong and Kathy DeRoeck for all their love and support they have shown to the Sippel family and for being at Dottie’s bed side during the time of her extended stay at the hospital.

In addition to her parents, Dorothy Jean was preceded in death by her beloved children, Dena Westra, Myron Westra and Dickie Westra; her siblings, Caroline Becker, Carol Jean Becker. Betty (Ervin) Colbeck, Jimmy Becker, and Ed Becker; her sisters-in-law, Carol Becker and Kelly Becker.

A visitation for Dottie will be held this Saturday, September 14, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Willow Funeral Home & Cremation Care 1415 W. Algonquin Rd., (one half mile east of Randall Rd.) Algonquin/Lake in the Hills.
