Donald C. “Pa” Aversano, Sr. age 80 , a longtime resident of Lake in the Hills, Illinois passed away at Northwestern Medicine-Huntley Hospital on March 23, 2023. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on November 5, 1942 the son of Luis and Irene (Buckholz) Aversano.

He was a Proud U.S. Army Veteran. Donald and his dog Thor served in the military police during the Vietnam War era. He was a staff Sargent in the military police. His passion was spending time with his family. Donald’s hobbies included going camping, wood working, and master of all trades. Donald was an outstanding role model for his children and grandchildren. He was boy scout troop leader and he worked for Sears over 5 decades.

Donald is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Celeste (Nawa) Aversano; his 7 loving children, Donald C. Jr. (Melissa) Aversano, Stephen R. (Donna “Polly”) Aversano, Ronald E. (Jennifer) Aversano, Ryan J. (Tasha) (Vicki former wife) Aversano, Brent D. (Krystal) Aversano, Tyler W. (Angelica) Aversano and Tonya C. Aversano; his cherished 23 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, 1 step-grandchild and 2 step-great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, in-laws, and his grandson Blade.

Cremation rites were held privately.
