David Kurtz Obituary

David Kurtz, of Algonquin, passed away peacefully in his sleep far too soon on April 5, 2026. Born in Chicago June 21, 1955 to the late Richard and Shirley Kurtz.  Beloved brother of Linda Hicks, Joanne (Tim) Higby and the late James Kurtz; loving step father of Amanda Henning; caring uncle of 6 nieces and nephews. David also leaves behind his former wife and life long friend Theresa and their late baby Danny Boy.

David graduated from Forestview High School, he continued on to Elgin community college where he studied computer science, and then completed the electronics program through DeVry Tech at DeVry University.

David was a very kind person, he loved life and  his family.  He enjoyed animals and was grateful for being able to view so many in the yard outside his home.  He loved his golden retriever Sandy, and his Siamese Cat Blue, who was always by his side.  David also loved Bears games, good food, fishing, horse racing and socializing but programming was his lifelong passion. He enjoyed critiquing processes and networking with people in an expanded world of technology.
