Daniel Louis Rosenmayer Obituary

"ALL AROUND GREAT GUY"

Daniel Louis Rosenmayer age 84, of Lake in the Hills, Illinois and Bonita Springs, Florida died peacefully on March 25, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

It is with heavy hearts and deep sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful father, husband, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Dan died as he had lived - Peacefully. He was a joyful man who was known to have a markedly witty sense of humor. He practiced kindness towards everyone whom he came in contact with. “ Easygoing and Extremely Generous” are the words that people who knew him would use to describe him. Being nonjudgemental he never seemed to meet anyone he didn’t like and respect.

Dan attended St. Williams grammar school, where he first met Loretta in 6th grade and St Patrick’s High school. In the 50’s He was a member of the Dukes Social Athletic Club. He loved playing softball and was very good at it. Like other members in his family,  Bowling was an important sport and social activity that he became very proficient at. In fact there is a story about a hotel in Beijing with a bowling alley where the staff probably still talks about his sleek bowling style to this day.

He worked as a machine operator for most of his career. Dan was a proud member of the IBEW, INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF ELECTRICAL WORKERS throughout his work history. He formed many cherished friendships and relationships during these years especially within the INTREN family. Even though Dan suffered from severe bouts of asthma that effected his breathing capabilities he had a remarkable work ethic and always gave everyday his very best. Struggling from asthma since childhood and recently with ALS, Dan managed to smile and accept the limitations these conditions challenged him with. For Dan, limitations became challenges, and he was very good at finding solutions to any challenge life threw at him. It was remarkable that he kept such a positive outlook and set a brave example for all of us.

Dan liked to travel but as all who know him well will attest to, Las Vegas was his favorite destination. He was a fun-loving person and demonstrated and celebrated there and on his boating weekends in the Wisconsin Dells for 30 years.  His favorite game in Vegas was “Let It Ride” and that is how he chose to live his life.

He is survived by his wife, of 63 years, Loretta (Mariani); his children, Daniel,  Lance (Kim),  Brett, Reid (Holly), Amber (Micheal) Huber, Kim, and Teresa; his 11 grandchildren; his  sisters, Kathleen ,Sharon, Rita and brother, Rudy; also many loving cousins and nieces and nephews.
