Daniel R. Harkin

Daniel R. Harkin age 61, of Lake in the Hills passed away on February 25. 2020. He was born in Chicago, Illinois on April 24, 1958 the beloved son of Daniel and Diane (Downey) Harkin.

He is survived by his loving children, Carolyn (Michael) Harkin-Brinton, Daniel Harkin and Jason Harkin; his dear siblings, Kevin (Cathy) Harkin and Diane (Stephen) Columbia; his fond aunt and Godmother, Sharon (Dave) Wovoris, (they also both share the same birthday!); his nephews and niece, Kevin and Matthew Harkin and Ashley, Paul and Patrick Columbia.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Dale Patrick Harkin.

Daniel worked for the Village of Algonquin, as a Building Inspector with 20 years of dedicated service.

He also was an avid fisherman, car enthusiast and a Chicago Cubs fan. He enjoyed collecting coins and WW II memorabilia.

Family & Friends will gather for a visitation on Monday, March 2, 2020 beginning at 10:00 AM at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church, 111 S. Hubbard St., Algonquin, with a Funeral Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 AM.

Cremation rites were accorded privately.
