Chris Columbia Obituary

Chris Columbia, age 59, Lake of the Hills, IL, formerly of Hampton IL, loving husband, father, brother and uncle passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2021 from complications due to diabetes. A memorial will be held on Saturday, August 21 from 2pm-5pm at Van Hoe Funeral Home, 1500 Sixth Street, East Moline, IL 61244.

Chris was born on December 28, 1961 in Moline, the son of Anthony and Joanne (Lesthaeghe) Columbia. He graduated from UTHS, where he wrestled and played football. He was named to the all Conference Team on Offense and Defense at the tackle position. He went on to obtain his Bachelors degree in Business and a Masters degree in IT. Chris lived in several states, including Georgia, Kansas, Colorado, Iowa and Illinois. He married Lisa Reeves on December 28, 1994 in Las Vegas, NV. He was most recently working as a manager at Dovenmuehle Mortgage in Lake Zurich, IL. Chris loved Star Trek and was in several commercials for MCI with the original Star Trek cast. He enjoyed growing his own tomatoes in the backyard, cars (as long they were red and a Ford), working on house projects and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife Lisa, children, Nathan Columbia and Katelyn Columbia, both of Lake in the Hills, father, Tony Columbia, Hampton, siblings, Cathy Grabau, Cindy (Dave) Ogle, Hampton and Craig (Regina) Columbia, Morton, IL and nephews, Dylan Columbia and Tyler Cornett.

He was preceded in death by his mother Joanne.
